Underwater Scene in Pixelmator

In this tutorial, I will show you how to create an underwater scene as inspired by the opening titles of I, Robot , the movie. We will create a brush that will be used to add the bubbles and explore a technique to make your scenes look more realistic. The whole process is quite simple, and it takes less than 1 hour to go through all the steps. Step 1 Open Pixelmator and create a new document, the one I’m using is 1440×900 pixels .

Wash Your Hands Case Study by Jõao Marques

João Marques is a digital artist and graphic designer from Coimbra, Portugal and he contacted us willing to share a case study of one of his designs, the Wash Your Hands. It’s a beautiful image which in João mixes a 3D text done in Cinema 4D with stock photos in Photoshop. We have published tutorials using similar techniques as the one João used, however one thing that really caught our attention was what drove him to do that, it was a project for an English Class. we are bringing this up because once again we want to persist with the idea of how important is to do personal work and you don’t need any special motive or a client to do so, it’s all about trying.

Wallpaper of the Week #106 – Fabio Sasso

The wallpaper of this week is an image I created for a project where the client asked me to play with lens flare. I know it’s the most hated filter ever but we can create really nice thing with it as long we avoid the default settings. This image is also inspired by some videos of lens flares plugins for After Effects. I will create a tutorial showing how I did that, it will be up soon.
